Set Demanding Goals
Dreams are a driving force that keeps each of us alive. We need
dreams because they nourish our spirit and give us a better vision of the
future. In motivation, dreams are where we want to end up, and goals
are how we get there. Goals are the individual steps we must take
in pursuit of our dreams. Understand though that long-term successes
are the direct result of what you achieve every day. Our goals must
be concrete objectives that are to written down and followed.
We must develop a plan of attack that allows us to experience daily successes.
This is not merely a wish list, but a work list that defines what must
be done to achieve success. Work is not fun, but achieving the goals is
and makes the process worthwhile.
Begin with short-term goals that are easily attainable to get into
the habit of improvement; then make the goals more demanding as you begin
to experience success. Goals must be kept realistic, but keep raising
the bar to continue pressing performance forward. Small successes
produce larger successes. Complacency kills dreams and halts your
progress, do not get content with small victories. The work to achieve
success will not be fun or easy, so do not get discouraged. The key
is to fight through tough times by reminding yourself to stick to your
plan because there will be a BIG PAYOFF in the end. Keep your vision
