At a popular club in downtown Nashville on November 13, the local music industry population gathered to help dc Talk celebrate the double platinum certification of its classic 1995 Jesus Freak album. Taking the stage to accept their commemorative plaques, members Toby McKeehan, Michael Tait, and Kevin Max repeatedly confirmed their commitment to dc Talk and the intention to regroup within the next two years following the November 21 release of Intermission: The Greatest Hits and an impending season of solo projects.
Dressed in matching designer suits, the trio joked about its early days when they were more likely to wear matching pajama shirts. And McKeehan set the tone of sincerity for the night by reading a written tribute to his band mates that he says will likely be featured in a musical interlude on his forthcoming solo album. |
