China
Sichuan Province
On April 9 we crossed the border into Hekou, China and began our journey north towards Beijing.  After a couple lengthy train rides and a few days in Kunming, we found ourselves at Emei Shan, one of China's sacred Buddhist mountain areas.
The two day hike up the mountain (3100m) would become etched in our memories for more reasons than one: incredible scenery, chanting monks, thousands of slate steps, agressive monkeys and...our engagement! This is us, newly engaged, at the summit.
A few months later, Olga and her family had a little engagement party for us at Olga's place in  Paris.  This is the only picture we have of Kendra wearing the ring, as it unfortunately went missing right after we landed in Canada.
Another memory of Emi Shan. Any wild guesses as to what theses guys do?
There you have it. They carry those who would rather pay than climb.
Not far from Emei Shan is Leshan, home of the world's largest buddha. If you look carefully you can see people right by his hairline.
