Every Friday they rent videos then watch them and analyze them. Then they both get in his bed (all clothes stay on) and go to sleep. He is also best friends with Pacey. He was dating Jen until she broke up with him. His mom is a local news anchor who has just broken off an affair with her co-anchor. He is in love with Joey but hasn't realised it.

Born on the 8th of March, 1977 to parents Melinda and Jim, James Van Der Beek currently plays the lead role of Dawson on Dawson's Creek. With one brother and sister, Beek has a talent in acting on stage too. He has appeared in "Grease" and "Finding the Sun" and several films also, but Varsity Blues was a role which we can all remember. After graduating from high school James attended the "Drew University" in Madison, New Jersey (USA) as an English major. Although giving up that particular career, James has now found his place in acting on Dawson's Creek as the sensitive, romantic and stubborn Dawson Leery.
