Return of the CREEK! TV Hits Magazine August 2002 Issue #168

The wait if finally over! With Dawson's Creek set to return to our televisions, TV HITS takes a look at what's happened on and off the screen in the lives of James, Katie, Josh and the rest of the gang!

WHERE WE LEFT DAWSON'S CREEK...
At the end of the last season, we saw Pacey sailing off into the sunset for a summer at sea while Jen, Jack and Grams packed their bags for Boston.
Meanwhile, Dawson and Joey big a sad farewell and share a kiss goodbye as he heads off to Los Angeles for film school, and she prepares herself for college life.

JAMES VAN DER BEEK
CREEK LIFE: After a brief internship on a movie set in Los Angeles, Dawson wings up living in Boston with the rest of the Creek-ers!
REEL TIME: James will hit our cinema screens opposite 40 Days and 40 Nights star Shannyn Sossamon and 7th Heaven's Jessica Biel in The Rules of Attraction.
IN LOVE: Earlier this year, James proposed to his long-time love, actress Heather McComb.

MICHELLE WILLIAMS
CREEK LIFE: Jen's living in Boston in a house with Grams and Jen's hanging out with cute newcomer Charlie (Chad Michael Murray) and hosting a radio show. 
REEL TIME: Michelle has been a busy bee! Not only has she just finished filming the feature The United States of Leland with Kevin Spacey, but she's also wrapped the English flick Me Without You, and Prozac Nation with Christina Ricci. Currently on a film break from Dawson's Creek, Michelle is starring in the off-Broadway play, Smelling a Rat.
IN LOVE: Tight-lipped about her private life, Michelle is dating a boy who is not in the entertainment industry!

JOSHUA JACKSON
CREEK LIFE: The boat Pacey's been working on docks in Boston and only Jen knows he's in town. But when he takes a job in a restaurant, Joey finds out.
REEL TIME: Last year Josh made a cameo appearance in Ocean's Eleven, and he starred in The Laramie Project, a tele-movie based on the true story of the murder of gay college student Matthew Shepard. Coming up for Josh is Lone Star State of Mind alongside James King and Road Trip's DJ Qualis. Josh is also in talks to star in Child's Play 5 with Alicia Silverstone.
IN LOVE: Josh is rumoured to be dating Josie and the Pussycats star Rosario Dawson. The secretive pair recently arrived together at the premiere party for Reese Witherspoon's flick The Importance of Being Earnest. When photographers tried to snap a picture of the couple cuddling on a couch, Josh called out, "No photos of us together!"

KATIE HOLMES
CREEK LIFE: In between writing essays and studying sessions at the library, Joey lets loose by falling for her English professor and returning to the karaoke stage.
REEL TIME: Currently filming Piece of April, Katie Holmes also has two other films wrapped up including the suspense thriller Abandon with Benjamin Bratt and Phone Bootm opposite Colin Farrell.
IN LOVE: Katie has been dating American Pie 2 star Chris Klein since early 2000 and works hard to keep their relationship private. "We're very antisocial," she jokes. [Chris] is a wonderful person, and it's a great relationship. We keep it separate from everything else."

KERR SMITH
CREEK LIFE: Jack joins a fraternity and is happy when all the guys accept that he' gay. And with his new college life, Jack finds it hard to juggle a long-distance relationship with Tobey.
REEL TIME: Kerr already has a film in the can, Pressure, and the character he plays is nothing like his Dawson's persona. "I play Jack McPhee nine months of the year," he says. "Anything else I do is going to differ from Jack - I can guarantee that!"
IN LOVE: In February, Kerr popped the question to his actress girlfriend Harmoni Everett. The two met while Kerr was shooting a film in Canada.

CREEK NEWCOMERS!
This seaosn, meet the two new faces in Dawson's Creek ...
CHAD MICHAEL MURRAY
WHO IS HE? Chad's the new boy on Dawson's who plays Jen's cheating boyfriend, Charlie. "My friend calls me every week and tells me, 'You're naked again on Dawson's Creek!' And he says that like it's a bad thing. It's not!"
YOU KNOW HIM FROM: Smooth-talking Tristan on Gilmore Girls.
WHAT ELSE: Chad has his small intentine removed as the result of a football injury, so he can't gain weight.
REEL TIME: Chad is in the talks to star in his own television show based on the king of the jungle, Tarzan!
BUSY PHILIPPS
WHO IS SHE? Busy plays Audrey, Joey Potter's boy-crazy college room-mate, who winds up catching Pacey's attention.
YOU KNOW HER FROM: Busy starred in the US television series Freak and Geeks.
WHAT ELSE? Busy's full name is Elizabeth Jean Philipps, her parents gave her the nickname Busy because when she was little she was constantly moving and the name stuck!
REEL TIME: Busy will star in the flick Home Room opposite Traffic babe Erika Christensen.

THE END OF THE CREEK?
ALL GOOD TV shows must at some time come to an end. So it looks there's only one more season left in the Creek and Josh and Michelle couldn't be happier!
"I'll miss the guys, but I'm ready for the next proportion od my life. There were certainly times when I went, 'Ugh. Maybe it's time for this thing to end.' " says Josh.
"I know I'm going to get in trouble for saying this," continues Michelle. "But I was 16 when I signed away six years of my life. It's really gruelling work!"
