Zural Luddie Hobbs was Drury Young Pitts second wife.  He had several children with his first wife.
Drury Young Pitts served in the Confederate Army. He enlisted in South Carolina and was with the 6th Calvary, Co. A. He was captured by Union troops under General Sheridan on June 15, 1864 at Travillion Station, VA. He was held prisoner of War at Elmira, NY Union Prison Camp until the end of the war.

"So far there is a list of 41 men in Elbert County who served in the War of 1812. This, however, may not be complete. During the early 1800's there were those who served in Indian Wars, but no list has been compiled on these.

"As the daughter of a Confederate Veteran who moved to Elbert County in 1894, I am aware that many serving in that war may have been latecomers. Also, Hart County was formed in 1853 and included a portion of Elbert. Many young men who enlisted in the War Between the States very early went elsewhere to enlist. Many of these fought early in Virginia and lost their lives.

"I believe the following account of Confederate Veterans still living in Elbert in 1916 will be of interest to many citizens of today. These men attended Memorial Day exercises on Wednesday, April 26, 1916, and were guests of the Jefferson Davis Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy at a dinner served in the hall of the Court House following exercises of the day. There were 46 men as follows:

Drury was first married to Isabella Bolt, their children are: David Jackson PITTS, born 15 JUN 1866 in South Carolina; John Belton PITTS, born NOV 1870 in Georgia; Mary PITTS, born 1872; William Carey PITTS, born 1873; Drury Lee PITTS, born 1875   (the Mary Pitts here married Zural Luddie Hobbs' brother Nathan)

Drury later married Zural Luddie Hobbs, daughter of Joel Hobbs and Louisa Esco, in Oglethorpe Ga. on July 24, 1883. Their Children are: Mell Bolton Pitts and his Twin Brother Nathan Webster (Webb) Pitts, born June 1886 in Georgia; Charlie Warren Pitts, born August 1887 and Katie Bell Pitts, born April 17, 1894.
