| Melissa Greer Shreve of Texas wrote a note on the internet: About a year and a half ago I spoke with you about doing research on Robert Greer who was killed in the Civil War. He is ancestor to Rusty Greer of the Texas Rangers baseball team. I'm happy to report a major break through with my search. Mrs. Bertie O'Quin paid a genealogist seeking the children of Henry Greer and Nancy Hobbs. Henry is the son of William Greer, grandson of Aquilla Greer, the great grandson of Aquilla Greer who died in Greene Co., GA. It turns out Robert is one of Henry Greer's sons. This information was obtained by the records of the Hobbs family. July 1999 |
