Current Events:
Work~
Plenty of working going on! My fall quarter schedule is Friday 7-4, Sat&Sun 8-5 and Monday night 4-1a. Fulltime! Not officially, but reviews are this month and I'm going to request that I officially become FT so I can get benefits and paid time off and such. :D I'm doing pretty good with work, was getting a bit discouraged...certain employees were starting to get to me. But I have decided to get over it and just be more productive. Thank God I'm almost a technician though!

School~
Yuck. School started up again on September 24th. This is one of the biggest quarters...5 classes. Anesthesiology, Radiology, Public Health, Equine, and Hematology. Lots of labs. This quarter is where we learn most of the technical skills that we will need as vet techs. It'll be very busy, I'm in school from 8-4 on Mon&Wed and 2-6 on Tues and 9-6 on Thurs. So added to work, that pretty much fills up my entire week! Luckily this stuff is much more interesting than last year.

Rescue~
So I do a lot of work for Jayme's cat rescue. It's called C.A.R.S. We have adoption days every other week and we've been taking in a LOT of kittens. I'm in charge of retrieving the voice mail for the rescue phone and then calling people back. So I am communicator-girl! I help out a lot with getting the adoption days and "spay-days"(when we do spay/neuters, vaccines, etc. for the rescue animals) arranged. All of the kittens in the rescue are in various foster homes, so I help to keep things coordinated between everything. Some weeks its craziness and some weeks a lot more calm.

Home~
Well, I dunno if you've heard, but I have my own apartment again! I've been there for about six months now and I SOOO love it! It's a little crowded just now because I have NINE cats there! I still have FooFoo and Fancy...all grown up now. And I have a six month old tabby kitten named Pixie who is a foster kitten who has gone to adoptions 10 times without getting a home. Plus, just last week I brought home 6 baby kittens about 6 weeks old. They mostly live in a couple big dog crates but when I'm home they get freetime to run about the house. It's definitely a full house! Their names are Smoke, Poochie, Midge, Cocoa, Green and Rachel. I'll try to get a picture of them to put up next month.

Others News~
Nebraska~
Well Jenni has graduated and gone off to UNL for college. Strange to think she's in COLLEGE already! So Mom has the house to herself for the first time in forever. This August I went back to Nebraska for my best friend from high school's, Heather's, wedding. I got to be maid of honor and it was so great! The wedding was beautiful and her husband is so sweet. It was cool to go back and see her again.

Website News:
Okay, so my website tends to be evil and loves to erase my homepage. So if this happens to anyone, I'm sorry and write me an email and let me know. Eventually it will get rebuilt.

The Opinion Column
Today I'm pretty cheerful so I guess I don't really have a rant. Hmm, so now I have to figure out something to chatter about. Let's talk about being single. Being single is great! Maybe I'm just an essentially selfish person but I've really been enjoying myself. When you're single you can do whatever you want, act how you want, eat what you want whenever you want to without having to consult or worr about somebody else at all. And that is a beautiful thing. I love to be able to come home from work and just veg out. Sit in front of the TV and watch my shows, sit and read my books, and snack all night if I want to. I don't have to cook dinner...or ask somebody else what they want for dinner. And cleaning up too! If I feel like doing the dishes, I can. If I don't, I don't have to...and I don't have to listen to somebody whine about it. It's so stressful living with somebody. Or, if you don't live with them, you just date them...if seems like suddenly there's all these expectations on you. You're expected to call them every day....and see them every time you get a chance. Well, I can like somebody a whole lot but not want to spend all my freetime with them. Wish people understood that better.
