Never in the history of Dagupan City electorate had there been a politician who is truly admirable, worth watching, interesting and trustworthy enough of people’s support and vote of confidence as when Jojo Guadiz III entered the arena last May 2001, gained big, marginal votes to become a top-ranking councilor and eventually emerging as one of the most popular among the new, dynamic, energetic and youthful leaders whose focus and vision are geared towards political reforms uplifting the city council’s image for a clean, honest to goodness, transparent and graft-free administration. Jojo faces tough job ahead as he leads the Sanggunian in investigating anomalous transactions like the 15 million peso advance salary scam of the treasury department being the chairman of the committee in good government; chairman, committee on laws and ordinances and chairman, committee on land use. His hard work and dedication combined with strong moral foundation and character win him honors and favor to exercise his privileges and prerogatives resulting to a high-yielding expose. His fact-finding committee pursued to the highest objectives, principles of fairness in the quest for truth, had advanced the cause and interest of the Mayor’s hard, high profile drive for efficiency in public service. The Mayor finds tandem in the person of our beloved councilor's remarkable and indefatigable performance based on his commitment and promises to face the demands and challenges of the critical times. Now the question remains to be answered…. What proper gauge of success can the constituents expect than to see those city officials held liable, perpetuators of graft and corruption suffer their fate in the eyes of the law. 

Jojo has gone a long way from being DCHS class ’77 valedictorian to being a brilliant Law Student at the San Beda College and later as a very impressive Master of Laws Student at the University of California in Los Angeles. Always aiming to hone his skills, pursue expertise and excellence, he never became complacent and never got bored with academics. He also became a fellow of mercantile laws at the University of Washington. Pleasing his nationalistic instincts and placing his country above all priorities, he left a very comfortable life in the U.S. and became a practicing trial lawyer upon his return. His educational background speedily advanced his career and became a corporate lawyer of Planter’s Bank, consultant of Anchor Savings Bank and consultant of Premiere Development Bank.

One of the best things this writer remembers about Jojo is that he does not go to his class, forum or discussion unprepared for elaborate, articulate deliberation on issues particularly politics, history, PEP talks (people, events, places) and social sciences. Even at tender age, he showed signs of excellence in argumentation and debates.

Truly a remarkable and notable leader is one who tries to uphold and protect anyone’s basic rights, a standard for which Jojo became expert in. His sharpness of mind, strong will, charm and values influenced by his family’s long line of tradition as public servants equip him with honor and wisdom, experience and expertise, mission and vision, sense of responsibility and nationalism to be a leader who magnificently shines.
