Dade County was formed from Barry and Polk counties in January of 1841.  The county was named for pioneer settler Francis L. Dade.  The county seat of Dade County is Greenfield, Missouri.  County records can be found at the courthouse in Greenfield.  However, the courthouse was burned during the civil war in 1863. 

Modern day Dade County is comprised of interesting towns and communities, each with its own unique personality.  We hope you enjoy this website and the information presented.  Please check back often as we will continue to add information.
