The DeKalb County Ghost Society of DeKalb, Illinois was formed in October of 2002 by Lydia Daffenberg, a resident of DeKalb and an active member of The American Ghost Society. We are a non-for-profit organization. Our focus is on investigating, documenting and authenticating actual ghostly phenomena in the DeKalb County area.
Our organization travels throughout DeKalb County investigating claims of ghostly activity. Areas of investigation include: historical sites, graveyards, private homes, theaters, public facilities such as libraries and schools, and more. We also research stories of local folklore to "test" their accuracy.
Our team uses state-of-the-art equipment and scientific methods of investigation to gather data and formulate reports of hauntings. Some of our members are "interested skeptics," who are welcome by our organization. As any worthy paranormal investigator will tell you, one should try to disprove hauntings by first looking for rational, natural reasons for the phenomenon. Then, if none can be found, continue on with a full investigation.
If you would like to talk with us regarding a possible haunting, share a ghost story or tale of local folklore, or gather information on how to join our organization, you may contact us at: |
