Living on Borrowed Time

Written on April 9, 2000. This is just a song about how we let our own schedules constantly stand in our ways of doing what God wants. We waste so much time chasing material things, and that time isn't our own to waste. Every moment is a gift from God. We should do our best to remember that and to make the most of every minute.

C'mon kids, 'cause time is tickin'
You say you're busy, I say you're chicken
You make your schedule into your god
Got too much going on this quad
Better take time out to seek His will
To know He's God and just be still

Chorus:
We're living on borrowed time
This life ain't yours and it ain't mine
The time we waste is not our own
And you can't get it back by changing time zones
You and I were bought with a price
By the One who made the sacrifice
Give each and every day to Him
Follow His will and not your whims

The hourglass of life is tippin'
And through the middle more sand is slippin'
Spending too much time in the fast lane
Don't waste your life away in vain
Let Him guide your ways today
Don't let more sand just slip away

Chorus (2x)
