In His Army Now

Written on April 2, 2000. This is just a song about being totally sold out to God. We've got to quit playing around. If any earthly army were made up of Christians, I wonder how successful it would be. We don't like to take orders, we always look out for our own selves, and we rarely recognize the enemy. Even when we do, we often surrender. You're part of God's army, so follow your Leader, look out for others, and don't allow Satan so much as a finger-hold in your life.

It seems that hope is all but lost
Before you pray, you count the cost
Evil surrounds you on all sides
And within your soul much fear abides
It's free, but it costs all you've got
To give all you are and all you're not
The decision made with a simple nod
You accept the holy armor of God
You shed a tear and give Him thanks
And take your place among His ranks

Chorus:
You're in God's army now
No time for foolin' around
Time to fight for your life
So let me tell you how
With knowledge of His Word
And His Spirit as your guide
You're armed and dangerous
No place to run and hide
Hold on tight and do not yield
'Cause Satan's fate is already sealed

So get down on your knees
And fight like a man
Strike out towards evil
In every way you can
It's time to dig trenches in the mission field
With His Word your sword and faith your shield
But be patient as you run this race
It's a powerful enemy that we face
Listen to your Leader
Don't ever jump the gun
'Cause while the battle may look lost
The war's already won

Chorus 2x
