Eight Thousand Miles

Written on July 20, 2000. Sometimes I like to drive around or just go somewhere where I'm far away from all the noise and distractions of life and I can just talk and praise and fellowship with God. It's nice to know that we have a God who loves us and to Whom we can take our troubles and questions to. That's what this song is all about.

Eight thousand miles outside of nowhere
I find a place where I can finally be alone
Where I can forget all of my cares
Forget the failures of a life I call my own

Oh Lord... Lord, be with me now

Lying on my back here on this hillside
Asking questions of the pristine sky so blue
Maybe if I lie here for a long time
I'll find the peace that can only come from You

Oh Lord... Lord, be with me now

Bridge:
'Cause I find it hard to sleep
And my heart is filled with fear
But I know that when I weep
You'll wipe away every tear

Eight thousand miles outside of nowhere
I find a place where I can finally be alone
I cast at Your feet all of my cares
And now I guess I'll find my way back home

Oh Lord... Lord, go with me now
Oh Lord... dear Lord, go with me now...

Bridge:
You're the Alpha and Omega
The only perfect One
You're the Lion of Judah
God's one and only Son
You're the Lover of my soul
Sending Your grace from above
You, Lord, are the One I love

Chorus
(replace "we's" with "I's" and "our's" with "my's")

Closing:
Dear Lord, I give my all to You
Nothing more... nothing less.
