Anything At All

Written on July 30, 2000. One of the worst things about being human is we have no ability to know what's going to happen next. Actually, that might be a good thing. I wrote this song as I was first starting to feel called into the ministry. God was calling me one way, but my own will was so strong that I doubted if it was really God or not. I was totally unsure of what to do. I had to learn that in those times that we're not sure of anything we must trust completely in our God who knows everything.

I seem to walk around in darkness
Hoping to catch a glimpse
Of what the future holds
'Cause right now life seems so aimless
I'd take a shot
But I can't even see the goal

Chorus:
So make Your Word a lamp unto my feet
And a light unto my path
Failure seems so imminent
But You know I don't want that
'Cause what I want more than anything
Is to follow You call
But it seems the only thing I'm ever sure of
Is that I'm not sure of anything at all

My eyes can't see the end of the tunnel
Much less any light
That might be shining there
Takes all I have to take the next step
So guide me Jesus,
This my earnest prayer

Chorus

Bridge:
Oh dear God, help me to trust You
Even when things are looking dim
Instead of looking to my future
From now on I'll look to Him

Chorus (2x)
