Follow the Leader?

Scripture: "Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ." ~I Corinthians 11:1

Upon reading this verse a while back, I found myself wondering how on earth anyone could say this. I mean, here Paul is, telling the Corinthians to do what he does because he acts like Christ. That's really putting himself out on a limb--if he fails, so will all of Christ's followers who are imitating Paul.

After thinking about this a little while, I thought about the fact that Paul's very words were inspired by God. You see, God knew that Paul was up to the task, or he would never have inspired Paul to say this. He wouldn't put that kind of responsibility on someone who couldn't handle it.

So I'm wondering--is there anyone out there who is godly and Christ-like enough to make this statement today? Can you tell anyone to imitate you because your actions reflect Christ's? Can I make such a bold statement?

As we go through life, let's all try to be so Christ-like that others see Jesus in us. Then, others will long to have such a relationship with the Savior. Let's all pray that God will help us to be more like His son throughout our life on earth.
