Dupont to Poolesville
Start: Dupont Circle is at the convergence of Conneticut Ave, Massachusetts
Ave, 19th St, and P St. From MD, take the Beltway to Conn Ave and go south
until you reach Dupont Circle. From VA, Take the Key Bridge over the
Potomac. Turn right on M St. at the end of the bridge. Go to New Hampshire
Ave and turn left. Follow New Hampshire to Dupont Circle.
The meeting place is the fountain at the center of Dupont Circle. Parking
can be found on many of the streets that lead into the circle.
Dupont to Poolesville
0.0 Leave Dupont Circle, heading west on P St.
1.1 Turn right onto Wisconsin Ave
1.3 Turn left on to Reservoir Rd. Continue west on Reservoir, past
Georgetown Hospital an the French and German Embassies.
2.9 Reservoir intersects with MacArthur Blvd. Continue forward on MacArthur
5.0 MD State line. Continue on MacArthur, thru Glen Echo and Cabin John
8.2 One line bridge. Get over to the left side of the road and use the
pedestrian/bike path.
12.6 Old Angler's Inn. MacArthur curves to the right. Start of the 1st
major climb.
13.8 Top of the hill. Turn right on to Falls Rd. (rte 189).
15.7 Junction of Falls and River Rd. (rte 190). Rest Stop in parking
lot to the right, just before the intersection
15.7 Turn right as you leave the parking lot to get back on Falls.
Immediatly get into left turn lane. Turn left on to River Rd.
There are shoulder on River, but watch out for loose gravel.
19.3 Start of 2nd major climb.
19.8 Top of th hill.
24.1 Rte 190 ends at a T. Turn left on to 112 (still River Rd, to the right
is Seneca Rd, but turn left). Look for signs to Pooleville Public Galf
Course.
25.1 Turn Rt onto Partnership Rd.
29.1 Intersection with Rte 107. After stopping at the sign, continue
forward on to Rte 107
30.0 Poolesville Town Limites
32.0 Turn into High's Dairy parking lot on right. Rest stop. We're on
Fisher Ave.
32.1 Turn left coming out of the parking lot, back onto Fisher Ave.
34.6 Intersection of Partnership Rd. Stay to the right and get back on
Partnership Rd.
38.4 Intersetion with River Rd (Rte 112). Turn left after stoping at the
sign. Stay to the right.
39.8 Turn right on to Rte 190, still River Rd.
48.1 Turn right onto Falls Rd
50.1 Turn left after stopping at the sign, back onto MacArthur Blvd.
55.7 On lane Bridge, use bike path again.
59.1 District line Continue on MacArthur.
61.1 Get into left lane. Go through light to get to Reservoir Rd.
61.7 Light at Foxhall Rd. Go straight.
62.7 Turn right after stopping at the sign onto Wisconsin Ave.
62.9 Turn Left on to P St.
64.1 Dupont Circle.
