Departing (esp. at low tide) involved left rear throttle & right throttle forward, left rudder to slowly pull
the yacht back and away from the pier. The water was very shallow at this end of the Washington Channel,
it empties into the Tidal Basin (location of the Jefferson Memorial).Click on image to go back
