| Welcome the Ruth's Garden |

| The idea for the garden and it's location came about shortly after we moved in on October 1999. Ruth had a garden before we were married, and she was excited at the prospect of being able to start a much larger one. The first garden was surrounded by chicken wire in a rectanguler shape, and held by metal stakes. This was necessary due to the many varmints that would have loved to snack on the fruits (vegetables) of our labor. This was replaced in 2003 with a picket fence roughly the same dimensions. I stapled 6 inches of the old chicken wire all along the bottom of the new picket fence to keep out pests. |
