J acki picked me up at the hotel, and we met Tammy at the studios a little before 9am. However, the producer's assistant was late, so we didn't make it in until almost 10am. The first thing she told us was that Josh would not be on the set afterall. Needless to say we were quite disappointed. Here I was walking around with this stick, and Tammy and Jacki hadn't gotten pictures with him yet. We saw one of the set PAs outside the studio and stopped to talk to him a minute. I voiced my disappointment that Josh wouldn't be there, and we talked about the stick for a while.

A s we went inside the studio, we found they were still setting up inside, and the actors were rehearsing. We were introduced to the new director for the 4th season that happened to be directing that particular episode (which was the fourth, by the way, and he was exremely nice. We were shown where the food and drinks were in case we wanted anything, and then we were shown a spot where we could stand. We were right beside the director leaning up against some lockers beside a doorway. We had the absolute best vantage point possible. While they were still setting up, I happened to look over to my right and directly across from us was Kerr getting his microphone placed by some crew member. I whispered back to Jacki that Kerr was right there, and she looked. As I was telling her not to stare, he looked at us and said "Hey guys". We said hello back and went on about our business. As the extras were being placed, I saw Kristina and Rachel and waved. Lucky them!

T he scene we watched took place in the school and included Michelle, James, Kerr, and Meredith. They were literally seven feet from us and were facing our direction. James was even cutting up on the set doing a funny little dance. Michelle had the cutest clothes on and her shoes were to die for. She is short, like me, and very pretty. I'm so loving her hair long and wavy.

O nce they finished the scene at that angle, they started setting up to shot the same scene at a different angle. The producer's assistant took us around to show us Andie's bedroom, the other interior on sound stage 7. Then we stopped and just started talking about how the show has developed and evolved and what characters we liked and hated (EVE!).

T hen the PA took us back around to the place where we had been standing before. We were about to walk through the door, me in front, when out stepped Josh! I really about had a heart attack. I so was not expecting for him to be there. After a few seconds of gathering my composure, I smiled and introduced myself, extending my hand for him to shake. Then he shook Jacki and Tammy's hand, respectively, introducing himself as Josh. After introductions were made, I began explaining how I had read somewhere that he likes to go hiking, and he was reaffirming that certainly he does like to. I presented him with a walking stick that I had my dad carve for him. Well, actually that one was carved by my stepmother. He thanked me and said how nice it was. He asked if I was a native, and I said no, I'm from Texas. He asked whereabouts in Texas, and I answered Austin, but my dad is from Utopia. Then he made some kind of comment like he carves beautiful sticks, and he lives in Utopia no doubt. He said it in a really funny way, and we all laughed. He started saying that how it was the perfect size and that his mom had gotten him a walking stick, but it was too short and he couldn't really use it. Then he did a little demonstration of how he would have to walk with the stick his mom gave him. We talked about other things, some of which I've forgotten. Can you believe that? I guess there was just so much happening that I didn't store it all away in long-term memory.

A ll in all, I guess he stayed backstage talking with us about 15 minutes. We all took pictures and had him sign various things we had brought along with us. When I asked him to sign the cover of my book, I was about to spell my name for him when he said "C H E R L Y N." I was taken aback and said, yeah, how did you know. He explained that he has a buddy who used to have a girlfriend named Cherlyn, and that's the way she spelled. I thought that was so cool! After talking, he left to go find his sister, who had been down for a visit that week. In the meantime, the producer's assistant took us around another way to watch from a different angle, since where we were standing before was going to be seen in the shot. They weren't quite finished setting up, and Josh was walking around talking with the other cast members and some of the crew. When asked by some crew who gave him the stick, he pointed to where I was and said "Cherlyn over there." AAAAHHHH!! It was a great time!

A fter they had "closed the gate", it was time for lunch, and the producer's assistant led us out of the studios and by the catering truck. She was explaining that that would be the best time to stop Kerr for an autograph. After standing there a while and not seeing him, the PA turned and said to us "Come on, let's get some lunch before the extras get here." I turned around to Jacki and Tammy and said "We get to eat with them!" At the studios, the catering truck and tables are all set up outside along with some other long tables where the extras sit for lunch. The cast and crew all eat indoors. So as we were getting our food, Josh and his sister were literally right across the table from us getting food as well. And guess what? He was carrying the stick!! No kidding! I was happy to see that he enjoyed it, but it was kinda funny watching him balance his tray and food in one arm, while carrying the stick with his other hand. That made me feel good, though. I hope he is able to get some use out of it.

I nside the lunch room, Josh and Aisleagh were seated at a table that was facing ours and we had a direct shot of him. That is if we wanted to look. I wanted to play it cool, but I think Jacki snuck a few peeks! Ha! He was singing and talking really loudly. We probably could have heard his whole conversation if we weren't talking with the producer's assistant.

A fter we were finished, we got up and walked outside to dump our leftovers in the trash and stack the plates up. While at the trash can trying to scrape off my leftover food, I noticed someone come up behind me and stop just at my left-hand side to put something in the trash as well. I looked over and it was Kerr! I was thinking to myself, should I bother him now, but I figured this could be my last chance, so I politely asked if he he had a few minutes to spare to sign an autograph and take a picture. He said "Sure!" So as I was handing him my book, he asked if we were the organizers of the chatters convention? I told him that I was the organizer and these two are members of the convention. He said he thought it was really cool of us to come out there and see them. He also mentioned that he had seen the itinerary that I had given Meredith the day before. Awesome! Tammy asked him where he got his gorgeous blue eyes from, and he turned around and looked at his parents, who happened to be visiting him, and said his mom. He was also the type that really looked at you in the eyes when you were speaking to him. After taking a couple pictures with each of us, we thanked him and he left. After lunch, the cast and crew packed up and headed over to the beachhouse to film some scenes. Of course, we weren't allowed to go because it was on private property, so we left. Being on the set was such a great experience, for sure! Before we left the studios, Jacki, Tammy and I stopped in to talk with Shannon regarding our place as extras. She said that we would more than likely be needed, but she would call me with a definite answer.

A fter Jacki and I dropped off our film at Target, we went to the airport where Candace, Liz, and Stephany were all supposed to arrive around the same time. I had only seen a picture of Candace, but I spotted her right away. We all greeted and talked for a bit. Then we headed directly over to Fincannon to talk with Shannon about them three getting to be extras as well. Shannon said that they had enough extras for Thursday, but perhaps if some people weren't able to make it on Friday then they could use a few people. From there Stephany and Candace went to their hotel, and Jacki, Tammy, and I drove Liz around the town some pointing out Dawson's Creek locations. We also stopped at this place where you could purchase Dawson's Creek souvineers. While there, I got a call from Shannon saying that we were definitely going to be needed. So we drove over to Fincannon again to pick up a map of where they would be filming the next day. Liz asked once more whether or not they needed anymore extras and stated that she was rooming with me. Shannon said she never liked to split anyone up, so she allowed Liz to be an extra on Thursday and Friday as well.

L iz and I went to the hotel, and there was a whole mix-up over that. I had been staying in a very nice room with only one double bed, but it was supposed to have a sofa bed as well. Well, it didn't, so we ended up having to switch rooms. But instead of a room with one bed and a sofa bed, the guy at the counter transferred us to a room with two double beds - for the same price! Yeah! People are extremely nice in Wilmington!

B efore we knew it, it was time to meet everyone down at Riverfront Park. When we arrived, Allison, Evelyn, Candace, Stephany, Mike, and Joe were already there. We just talked and waited till everyone got there. While sitting on the steps, someone approached our group and stated that she was with the Wilmington Star Newspaper and that someone had sent her an email about the chatters convention. Of course, that was none other than myself, and I was so surprised to see her there since she had never responded to my email. We talked briefly about the whole organizing of the convention, and she went around and got everyone's names and where they were from. She asked if she could meet with us again to discuss in depth the nature of our trip and to take our pictures. How awesome is that!

S o then we all walked down to Water Street, which was only about a 100 feet away from where we met. We were a little early than 8:30 in arriving, but they already had all our tables ready, complete with special menus they had made up for the "Davidson Party." It was a good time of talking, laughing, and eating (although honestly, I didn't think the food was that good!). After we left the restaurant, we walked around downtown sightseeing. Evelyn, Allison, And Allen were the first to leave. Soon to follow was Jacki, Liz, and myself. Afterall, we had to be up early so that we could be out at the set by 8am!
