| Let's assume that these "hits" are coming from real people. Let's also take the liberty to assume that these people are reading these articles. And let's go ahead and make the assumption that some of these people actually enjoy the articles. If this is true, I might actually have some negotiating power with Dave, the self-proclaimed HDBAY boss. Dave, HDBAY's founder, indeed writes many of these articles, but everyone needs a little ghost writing some of the time. And that's where this anonymous writer (I mean me) comes into play. February 5th's article, "North Korea Declares Nuclear Facilities Harmless", was mine. And the Greenpeace one on February 4th? Mine, too. To tell you the truth, I've written quite a few of these pieces. But everyone needs help sometimes. And I want to write some pieces that can not only be well liked, but can possibly save me from literary subjugation from Dave and propel me into the writer's spotlight. And so the call for submissions continues. To anyone reading, please submit some ideas for writing. Any ideas for any writing. For example, the "top 10" list on the main page has been up there since trance music first became popular. Give me a new top 10 list. Or did you hear a funny joke lately? Re-hash it for me. Or if you can write something (anything) even remotely entertaining, go ahead and email the site ([email protected]) and we'll probably post it. So put the paper to the pad and the fingers to the keyboard, and send us some good stuff! |

| If you're reading this week's column, I will find out. I'll know when you clicked on, what pages you've visited, and what operating system you're running. You can't hide. The information within my grasp might be valuable to some hacker, who might steal your identity and leave you with a credit rating worse than Enron's. And since I have absolutely zero computer talent besides being to turn one on, I won't be doing any of that illegal technical stuff. But thanks to user-friendly Yahoo website statistics, I know that there are some people who actually click onto the site. At least I'm hoping so, because for all I know, all those registered "hits" we're getting might only be Dave reading his own articles. |
