Sonic Adventure is one of the few games
that really deserve to be on the Dreamcast. Not only are
the sound, gameplay, and graphics good, but it shows what
the Dreamcast can really do. The game starts you off with
Sonic fighting an evil monster named Chaos. After Sonic
defeats Chaos, Sonic is then relocated to a pool part of
a hotel. Sonic then looks up to the sky and he sees his
pal Tails, Tails is flying and then he crashes, and the
next part of the game is to go out and to find him. After
Sonic finds Tails you can then use Tails to complete the
game, and then after Tails finds the next character you
can then use them to beat the game, and so on and so on.
It is not so much finding the character, but unlocking
them at the start menu to use them in the game.
Addicted to Speed
The graphics in this game are amazing. The graphics in
this game are almost as good as Shenmue. Almost every
single object, building and the scenery is detailed to
its full extent. Sonic himself is very highly detailed,
and so are the other characters. Besides Sonic each level
is highly detailed and made to look as good as possible.
The trees even sway back and forth in the game to show
how real it looks. Besides the graphics the game has
almost no slow down. There can be multiple tasks going on
and your screen will not freeze up and Sonic will not go
out of control.
Stop, Look And Listen
When I went to put this game on stereo it sounded like I
was in the game. As you can tell the sound is done
beautifully and so is the music. The game features sounds
as real as can be. There are seagulls in the game that
fly around and sound just like real seagulls. The
different levels in the game are enriched with many
different lifelike sounds and great music.
Running Is Fun
In this game there are six characters you can choose from.
Each character is unique with there own features. I'll
name a few different features. Tails is able to hover
high in the air for about 5 seconds, which is very fun. E-102
gamma was created by none other than Dr Robotnik, he
carries around a gun which you can shoot out a laser. Big
The Cat has a fishing pole that you can pick up things,
not only fish. Moving on from the characters features,
let's talk about movement. In the game you can go almost
anywhere that you can see. Sonic can run freely without
any restrictions, and Tails can fly almost anywhere,
excellent for finding secret areas! In the game you can
also raise a virtual pet, named Chao. You can also
download them to your memory card to play with. In the
game there are different animals, like rabbits and
squirrels that can interact with your Chao. After they
interact, your Chao develops some of that animal's
features.
Sonic Speedway
This game will last you for about a month, and you
probably would want to play it over one more time. After
you finish it the game may seem somewhat boring and a
chore to play so you can take advantage of the Internet
feature. At the Sonic homepage you can download different
add-ons to the game. You can also download racing
contests to play against other people, after that you can
then upload your scores over the Internet to compete for
a prize. You can also download scenery for your game. Can
life get any better? Probably but it's not happening so
soon.
Must Buy!
With all of these features how could you not get the game?
There are multiple things that will keep you busy for
awhile so don't count on getting bored. Each character is
unique in every way, and each level is different, so how
could you get bored? There's so much to see and do. Now
go out and buy the game.
