With all of the massive hype surrounding it, Shenmue was expected to sell a lot. When people first set their eyes on the amazing, breathtaking graphics, People just had to have it. Well, Shenmue does look pretty damn good. In fact, it has some of the best graphics ever. In this action/rpg, you play as Ryo Hazuki the son of iwao Hazuki the expert in the Hazuki Style martial art (of which Ryo is pretty good at to) The game is spread over 3 disks + a fourth disk which contains internet options. The main gameplay is cut into three categories: Free Quest- The main part of the game where you walk around to advance the story; Free Battle- Virtua fighter stlye fighting to deafeat enimes, and Quick time Events, Which are bassicly interactive movies so you have to press the button on the control pad really quickly as it appears on the screen.There is an in game clock that keeps track of day (It's faster than real time), and the weather changes day to day. Their is tons of stuff to doin the game. As well as the main goal you get to play mini games which include playing classic games in the arcade (Very cool), buying toys in the capsule toy machine, Collecting tapes from the shops having goes on the tombola and of cource looking after a little kitten. This all adds to the longevity of the game. alot of people dont lie this game they say it is to short. it can be a short game if you play through it just following the main story but if you like to explore and find every little thing in a game then this is the game for you. I do have one major complaint: After you beat the game
you cant go back and explore, so you better do it all
before you finish the game. the first time i played this
game i missed a fair few items so i had to play it again
to collect every thing. **********
