In this much anticipated sequel to the hit Crazy Taxi, you once again drive people to places that they want to go, whether it be to a mall or a local Burger King. This time around you get four new drivers to choose from and two new maps (both of them being New York, one bigger the other smaller). Also your car now has hydraulics which allow you to perform a "Crazy Jump" and launch your car into the air. Other than that, its just the same fun "take people where they want to be" game.
Graphics:
The graphics in this game are above average. Not top-notch like Shenmue or Dead or Alive 2 though. The cars, as well as the drivers, are very detailed and look sharp and clean. The passengers and destinations also look very clean. Even the menus are bright and easy to comprehend. Very few graphical flaws, such as clipping and slow down, haunt this game.
Sound:
The sound in this game rocks. Everyone's voices and the usual car sounds (horns, tires squealing, etc.) are clear. The game also bost a very good soundtrack much like its predesessor. The only problem is that the passengers and driver have a very limited script. The same phrases will be repeated over and over again. It is the only audio annoyance in the game.
Control:
This game control exactly like Crazi Taxi did, with one exception. The Y button is now used to launch your car into the air by use of the car's hydraulics. The controls are easy to execute and fit perfectly with the Dreamcast controller. Within five minutes you should have the basic control mastered. The advanced controls (crazy dash, turn, etc.) should take that long to master either.
Overall:
If you loved Crazi Taxi and don't find little gameplay flaws (such as obvious shortcuts which lead to dead-ends) to be too much of a problem, then maybe you should purchase Crazi Taxi 2. If not, then a rental will suffice.
