Final Fantasy VIII Review
The sequel to the best PSX RPG of all time is here. And boy is this one stunning title, Squaresoft have once again outdone themselves with this masterpiece.

Graphics
Well well well where do you start when talking about FFVIII's graphics. The locations are beautifully pre-rendered exposing luscious detail. Some of the locations are to die for, like when you're going to the TV station in Timber and you're running up that stair case and you have that beautifulm view of the rest of Timber. The battle sequences have been revamped with the GF's (summons) looking better than ever. The only dissapointments as far as graphics are concerned are the world map (when you travel from city to city) and the backgrounds of the battles.

Gameplay
The Final Fantasy series has always been renouned for it's killer gameplay, which is why it's the best RPG series ever. The controls have been tampered since FFVII, now X is the accept button instead of the more Japanese style O button. During most of the game the player controls Squall Lionheart, the games protagonist, during certain parts in the game the player switchs to controling a Laguna, a retired military solider who is some how connected with Squall and who holds the key to Squall's sucess in conquering the evil. The materia system has been given the boot and been replaced with the more flexable Junction system.

Overall
This is another Square must own tittle. In my mind the best the Final Fantasy series has to offer, that is until Final Fantasy IX hits me like a bat out of hell........ well maybe
