One of the first action adventure tittles that stood out from the rest in a crouded genre, Metal Gear Solid uses pure genius from Hideo Kojima and is praised as being one of the best Playstation games. It's responsible for many of my gaming hours as it sits proudin my collection.
Graphics
The eye candy in this game is some of the best on Playstation, while it's an oldish game, MGS's graphics are nearly as good as Vagrant Story's. The amount of detail in most areas is amazing, for instance the final fight againist Liquid as you battle it out againist him on the back of a speeding jeep is apsoulutly amazing. God only knows how far Kojma-san pushedthe little grey box.
Gameplay
Some areas of MGS's gameplay have to be seen to be believed. And by playing this masterpeice you can't help but relise how much hard work Konami put into this tittle. The confrontation with Psycho Mantis will go down in my mind as one of the cleverise battles againist a boss in gaming history. That and the constant original use of the Dual Shock make the gameplay some of the best in any game...... period!
Overall
This is a must own game that would stand proud in any gamer's libary.
