Garlic Jr. Saga

	Following The battle with Freeza, Krillin becomes involved with a woman named Marion, and everything is generally peaceful. Before long, Garlic Jr., whom Goku had previously sealed within the Dead Zone, returns to Earth! Garlic Jr., along with four new underlings, launch an attack on Kami's palace, and seal Kami and Mr. Popo inside a small bottle. Elsewhere, Gohan pays a visit, without letting his mother know, to the Kame House with Krillin and Marion. Having secured his position, Garlic Jr. releases an evil Black Water mist, which poisons otherwise ordinary people and changes them into his demonic servants. Garlic Jr. uses the Dragonballs to wish his father, Garlic, back to life. They begin to make plans to rule over the world by turning its inhabitants into their demonic slaves. Gohan and Haiya Dragon, as well as Krillin and Marion, manage to avoid exposure to the black mist. However, Bulma and the others at the Kame House have been affected by the mist, and begin to attack Gohan! Garlic Jr's four underlings show up, saying that only Super Holy Water, located within Kami's temple, is capable of counteracting the effects of the mist. The warriors manage to trap Gohan, when Piccolo arrives on the scene. Garlic Jr's return is due to the near approach of the Makyosei, a demonic star. The star's approach raises Garlic Jr's dormant powers. The effects of the Black Water mist become permanent after twenty-four hours - not even Super Holy Water will cure its victims after that. Piccolo does 
battle with Garlic Jr's four henchmen, keeping them occupied and ordering Gohan to go to Kami's temple. However, Piccolo is attacked 
and bitten by a possessed Yamcha, and it appears that Piccolo also turns demonic. Gohan and Krillin leave Marion at the base of Karin Tower and begin climbing up towards the temple. 
            
Elsewhere, Vegeta journeys out into space in pursuit of Goku. Upon reaching the top of Karin Tower and rising to the temple, Gohan 
and Krillin are surprised to find Garlic Jr's four henchmen, along with Piccolo, waiting for them to arrive. With Kami and Mr. Popo held captive, Gohan, still in his right mind, struggles in his battle against Garlic Jr's men. Garlic Jr, still angry with Gohan over their last encounter, orders everyone to focus their attacks on Gohan. Krillin is hit by one of Zald'ss energy blasts as he defends Gohan, causing Gohan to explode with fury! Elsewhere, Karin is caught up in Marion's feminine charms. Vegeta senses the Ki of a Super Saiyan, and heads off toward a distant star system. Upon arriving, Vegeta finds no one there, but instead discovers the remains of a tremendous release of Ki. Convinced it came from Goku, Vegeta's own aura flares up. Running on anger, Gohan dispatches both 
Zald and Tard with a Masenko blast. Suddenly, Piccolo begins attacking Gohan one-on-one! Piccolo's attacks on Gohan are even fiercer than Gash and Vinegar's. Krillin does what he can to help Gohan, but is bitten by Piccolo! Piccolo and Gohan's battle takes them within the walls of Kami's palace. Piccolo splits himself into three, and hammers Gohan from all directions. Krillin, having become a demon, joins Piccolo in the attack against Gohan! All of a sudden, Piccolo snatches the bottle containing Kami and Mr. Popo away from Garlic Jr and opens it, releasing its captives. Garlic Jr realizes that the fight has been an act to take him off his guard, and seethes with anger. As Kami prepares to procure the Super Holy Water, Garlic Jr laughs at him, saying that night has already fallen, and the effects of the Black Water mist will soon be permanent. 

Mr. Popo suggests they distribute the Super Holy Water by pouring it through holes in the bottom of the heavenly palace. However, this area of the temple, called the Shinsenkai, is an extremely dangerous place. It also holds the graves of all the Kamies that have gone before. Covering their backs, Piccolo sends Kami and the others off toward the Shinsenkai. The Makyosei reaches its closest point with Earth, and the demonic power of Garlic Jr is increased tenfold! Garlic Jr grows into a much larger form, and the defeated Gash rises again. A mysterious figure appears before Kami and his party as 
they reach the Shinsenkai. The previous being who served as Kami attacks Kami and Mr. Popo. Outside, Krillin and Gohan 
are having difficulty holding their ground against Gash and Vinegar. Piccolo himself grows bigger, and begins to grapple with Garlic Jr. Kami tries once again to penetrate the boundary between this world and the Shinsenkai, but as he does so, his hand starts to disappear! Linked as he is to Kami, Piccolo also suffers the 
same effect, hindering his battle with Garlic Jr. Kami continues to press on with all his might. Garlic Jr moves in to finish Piccolo off, but Gohan blocks his blow. Kami finally reaches the bottom of the heavenly palace, where the preceding Kami blocks his way. Gohan attacks Garlic Jr, punching a hole clear through his belly! However, due to Garlic Jr previously wishing for eternal life with the Dragonballs, he is not defeated. Piccolo and Krillin work on the others, allowing Gohan to concentrate on keeping Garlic Jr contained. Elsewhere, Kami 
tells Mr. Popo that the previous Kami are only concerned with himself, allowing Popo to pour out the Super Holy Water. Gohan has 
trouble locating his target with his Masenko blasts. The Super Holy Water has the desired effect, and people all over the world begins to return to normal. Garlic Jr becomes furious that his plan to turn mankind into demons has been thwarted, and creates a new Dead Zone, threatening to suck the Heavenly Palace into it! Piccolo opens a hole in the protective barrier and tells Gohan to blast the Makyousei. Gohan is unable to attack for fear of what will happen to everyone else around them. The previous Kami end their attack, and send Kami and the others back to Earth's surface. Garlic Jr raises the level of power in his Dead Zone, and it appears that Kami will be sucked in! Piccolo manages to leave the shield and pull everyone else through as well. Piccolo distracts Garlic Jr, and Gohan is able to launch a blast at the Makyousei, destroying it in a huge explosion! Having lost the source of his tremendous power, Garlic Jr is sucked into his own Dead Zone, which also vanishes! 
            
With Garlic Jr defeated once again, peace returns to Earth. Krillin becomes acutely aware of his upcoming marriage to Marion. Umigame tells Krillin a tale about a giant pearl in the middle of the sea. Thinking that Marion would be overjoyed at such a wedding present, Krillin takes Gohan and sets off to the ocean floor. Krillin realizes that the pearl is a treasure that belongs to the creatures of the sea, and decides not to follow through. Thinking he doesn't have what it takes to make Marion happy, Krillin breaks off the engagement and says his good-byes. As he leaves, Marion tells him that she feels fine about becoming his wife, but Krillin does not realize what she means. Later, when he comes to his senses about Marion's meaning, he discovers that she has taken off with another man. With tears rolling down his cheeks, Krillin can't help but feel he's been jilted.
