LOCAL WILDLIFE
Deer are abundant in Arkansas.  The first year after we fenced in a new section of pasture, a fawn was born in that fenced in area.  Altho Moma Deer could jump the fence the baby couldn't at first and stayed in the saftey of the pasture.  As time went on, the deer would wander up to where we fed bread to the goats and we would throw extra out for the baby.  Soon it came right up with the goats looking for its nightly bread.  We named it Bambi and seemed to be able to identify it that year and the next, because of its friendly nature.  Here Bambi is just over 6 months old.
We use to see ducks on the Big Pond but several years ago, Canadian Geese started visiting and we see very few wild ducks anymore.  Here in 1999, we had over 40 geese spend each night at the pond.  Each year that has grown until its closer to 100 now.
Of these geese a pair has raised young for three years now.  Those once goslings come back and are not afraid to walk up to my In-Law's house looking for bread or cracked corn.
We also have skunks, o'possums, racoons, armidillos, coyotes, squirrels, and many different birds.
In August of 2003 we had a flock of wild  turkeys cross the yard.  THere 8 in all.
