Deborah
M. Buehler
Ecology and
Evolutionary Biology, Post-doctoral Fellow [email protected] Postal address: Department of Natural History, 100 Queen’s I am an integrative biologist with interests in ecological immunology, ecological immunogenetics and conservation. My research is inspired by the question of how animals allocate resources between competing demands in order to maximize fitness on a planet increasingly impacted by humans. In particular I am interested in the intersection of eco-immunology, wildlife disease and genetics. I envision a lab where research integrating across disciplines furthers our understanding of animal adaptations to their environment in the context of ecology, evolution, conservation and sustainability. To get an idea of my previous research, a summary of my MSc research can be found here, and a summary of my PhD research can be found here. In addition to biology, I enjoy musing about life and chronicling my travels in words and pictures. A few of my photos from fieldwork and other travels are posted under the 'Photos' link, and travel articles as well as general musings are posted under the 'Blog' link. |
