My 1990 Grand Prix STE Turbo
History:
There were only 1,000 of these cars made in 1990, and 1990 was the only year they were produced. They were only available in White or Dark Red. There was only 4 options available, everything else was standard. The 4 options available are Heads Up Display, CD Player, Leather, and a Powered Moonroof. Standard options for the car include 10 speaker stereo system, 12 way powered driver & passenger seats, keyless entry, air conditioning, power mirrors, cruise control, electronic compass trip computer and DIC with lamp monitor, 4 wheel anti-lock disc brakes, and aluminum color matching wheels. The engine is GM's 3.1L pushrod V6 that is Turbocharged & Intercooled. The turbocharger is set to make 7.5psi boost, with a computer controlled fuel shutoff at 9psi boost. The engine puts out 205hp @ 5200rpms, and 220lb.ft. @ 3600rpms. Stock they do 0-60 in 7 seconds flat, and run the 1/4 mile in a respectable 15.3 seconds at 89.5mph. The top speed is governor limited at 128mph. They are sometimes refered to as TSTE's, the T meaning turbo.
About My TSTE:
My TSTE is the dark red color. It has a grey interior. For options all it has is the Powered Moonroof. The interior is in pretty good shape, and most of the paint is in good shape, with the exception of a scratch or chip here and there.

Performance Specs:
The car has run a best 1/4 mile time of 14.695 @ 94.49. This time was acheived before the Cam, Underdrive Pulley, Injectors, and 3100 Topend. Here is the slip:
The car has pulled a best of 182.1 horsepower at the front wheels on a Chassis Dyno. The dyno sheet will be posted here eventually. This was done with the only modifications being the Air Filter, Removed Catalytic Convertor, Magnaflow Mufflers, and AC-Fins Removed.

I am currently gathering all the parts needed to do an L36 swap into this car. An L36 is the N/A 3800. I am going to pull the engine and tranny complete from my roomates wrecked '98 GP GT. I plan to drive the car as my daily driver throughout the year with the engine N/A, and then over next winter I will gather all the parts needed to supercharge the car. I plan on just doing a basic S/C swap without doing any other mods to get me a consistant high 13 second daily driver. The car will actually slow down when I do the swap at first, but after I do the supercharger it will be quicker than it is now and should be significantly more reliable as well and will definately get better gas mileage. I plan to keep updating this page with my progress.
