Straight out of Illinois cornfields, Driven By Suffering mixes 1980s thrash metal with today's hardcore to bring their brainchild "thrash-core" to the masses, fusing fast & technical riffs a long with unique & catchy breakdowns. DBS was formed in early 2004 as a 5-piece and recorded 2 demos with that lineup. In the summer of 2005, guitarist Paul Guzior and drummer Nate Wilkinson left the band to pursue college and a career in construction. July '05, DBS recruited ex-Blacklyst drummer Joe Towne and has since then stayed a 4-piece, rewriting and scrapping old material. August '05 came the release of an independent sampler cd featuring 3 songs off their upcoming full length "Without Sleep". In September, DBS hit the road and independently toured through the upper midwest hitting Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, & Michigan. Driven By Suffering have also shared the stage with these national acts: The Pimps, Screaming Afterbirth, Embrace The End, Macabre, Kataklysm, Napalm Death, & Cannibal Corpse. DBS is a band for any metal head, and is great for fans of Pantera, Bury Your Dead, Hatebreed, & Kataklysm. Driven By Suffering has a live show that must be seen to be believed, featuring an exciting stage performance, crowd interaction, offensive gestures and humor, and the wettest, wildest fun wherever they play. In the first month of 2006, WITHOUT SLEEP was finally released after being pushed back 2 months. The album is "a dark journey through the world of war, love, religion, and insomnia," with addictive and vulgar riffs.
