WILKES-BARRE, PA MAY 26-27
Greetings from Wilkes-Barre! For the second time in three weeks I am working in Eastern Pennsylvania. For the third time in as many weeks, I am once again not feeling well. The entire month of May has been one big allergy attack. Oh well, this is a quick and easy week in a new club so Im not complaining.
Driving through Pennsylvania is great. Between the farms, wildflowers, and mountains, its one of the most eye-pleasing states Ive ever been to. On the way to the club I stopped to get gas at Sheetz. Another comic turned me on to this gas station because of their in-store deli. Using a touch screen, you can design your own sandwich, burger, etc., and theyll make it fresh for you right there in the store. The servings are huge and its just as good as any national chain. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is driving through.
A couple of weeks ago I was in Scranton, PA, which is about 20 minutes from Wilkes-Barre. Im working at Wise Crackers Comedy Club, which is located in the downtown area. Its a small but intimate room that seats about 100 people. The club puts the comics up in a huge hotel suite with several bedrooms, full kitchen, and its right upstairs from the club. Ive got to say that I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival.
Overall it was an average weekend in Wilkes-Barre. Not to many people showed up because of Memorial Day weekend, which is too bad. This room would ROCK if it were packed out. I left immediately after the show so that I could drive home overnight. My friend Matt had a little social gathering at his place on Sunday and I wanted to attend. As you can see, I ended up training his daughter to be a beer tub girl. Good times Until next week Danny
