Meridian, MS - Rainy weather changed the plans of the 33D team this weekend as we had initially planned on racing Friday night at Hattiesburg. After that was called off, we decided to make a trip back to Queen City Speedway in Meridian. Only ten modifieds were in attendance and there was a low car count overall, partly due to the bad weather in the area. Daniel started 6th in the ten car heat race and was looking to take advantage of passing points offered in the heat races. The JetMod was fast in the heat race, quickly moving into third and taking over the second position by the halfway point. This is where he would finish the heat race. Changes were made to the suspension before the main event in anticipation of changing track conditions. With an outside pole starting position, Daniel was in good position to contend for the win. The feature race turned out to be a heated battle between the top three cars, with Daniel constantly trying to pass for the win, while at the same time trying to hold off the hard charging third place car. After a close finish, Daniel had to settle for second, his best finish to date this season. With a second and a third in consecutive weeks, things appear to be turning around for the 33D JetMod team. We hope to build off of this and continue gaining momentum, hopefully leading up to a much desired victory in the near future. |
