Hattiesburg, MS - After repairing the damage from last week's first lap crash, the 33D JetMod team traveled back to Southern Speedway, looking to rebound from last week. Bad draws while registering are becoming something to laugh at, as once again Daniel drew a rear starting position for the heat race. Starting on the third row of the 8 car heat, Daniel quickly advanced to the fourth position but was battling handling problems. Near the halfway point, the third place car spun and the 33D assumed the 3rd spot and finished there. Between races, the team made some heavy changes to the suspension to correct the handling issues in the heat race and to prepare for the drying track surface. The changes proved to be just right, as the JetMod was really fast and quickly advanced to the 3rd position, despite having his driver's side door torn off in an early wreck and escaping critical damage. He was now behind heavy favorites Ben Stephens and Chad Williams. These three engaged in a heavy battle for more than half of the race, steadily pulling away from every car behind them while never having more than have a car length between them. After a very competitive main event, the finishing order was Stephens, Williams, and then Daniel. The team is hopeful that the string of bad luck that has plagued them all season is beginning to come to an end with our best finish of the season to date.
