Magnolia, MS - A rainout on Friday night at Hattiesburg changed our plans and sent us to the high banked 3/8 mile oval of Pike County Speedway. Only ten modifieds were on hand but any race in this competitive class is not easy. A second row starting spot in the heat race put Daniel in good position for a finish in the front. By the end of lap one the 33D JetMod had moved into second place behind fellow Team JetMod driver Heath Willard. Daniel got his nose under Willard a couple of times in the first few laps but settled in to run second and wait for the feature to go for first. Daniel and his crew made a few changes to the rear suspension to try to keep up with the fast drying track before the feature. Starting on the inside of the second row, we were looking for another 1-2 JetMod finish as Willard was starting on the outside of the first row. However, bad luck once again prevailed as Daniel was sent spinning in to the front straightaway wall at the end of lap one by the car he was passing to move into second place. This broke several steering components and put us on the wrecker once again. |
