Hattiesburg, MS - With a new motor in the car, Daniel and the 33D JetMod team were back at Southern Speedway ready for action. With a different motor combination, this would be a testing night as well to find the right setup for a higher revving motor. In the heat race, the 33D started on the outside of the second row. Battling a loose handling car, he managed to improve one spot and finish 3rd, holding off a late race challenge from the number 21 car. This gave us a 3rd row inside starting spot for the feature. With a state series late model race on hand this night, Daniel and his crew made extensive changes to the setup before the feature, both to correct the loose condition in the heat and to prepare for the fast drying track. These changes proved to be good as Daniel quickly passed a couple of cars and moved into 3rd. After a caution a few laps later, track officials moved the 33D all the way back to 6th, a move that infuriated Daniel and his crew. After arguing to no avail, the race went on. With 2 laps to go, cars got backed up going into turn 1 and the car in front of Daniel had to check up, leaving no where to go for the 33D. The end result was a flat tire and broken front left suspension, once again putting us out of competition for the night. |
