Hattiesburg, MS - A field of 17 Mississippi Modified were on hand for a regular Friday night show. The 33D was strong in hot laps and in a good position to contend for the heat race win thanks to an outside pole starting position. That plan was interrupted, however, when the ignition box went out just prior to the start of the heat. Fellow competitor Ben Stephens was kind enough to let us borrow his spare ignition box in order to be able to race in the feature race. Despite starting dead last in the feature, our car proved strong enough to move through the field and gain ground on the leaders. By the midway point, Daniel was in the top ten and finished just out of the top five in a hard earned sixth place. Despite the troubles early in the night, we went away pleased because of the strong run in the main event. |
