| Well... the Earth is NOT "millions of years old" as people who don't believe in God claim. It is really at most a few thousand. God created the world in six days, and rested on the seventh. | |||||||
| But though Earth started out good, sin entered the world when Adam and Eve, the first two humans, disobeyed God, and thus sin and death started to mess things up. | |||||||
| But God provided a way out for us when He sent His Son Jesus to die for us, and rose again. | |||||||
| So... how is one saved? Well, many denominational people say various things, but Scripture teaches the correct way: | |||||||
| 1) Hear the Word of God: "Consequently, faith come from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ." [Romans 10:17; NIV] |
| 2) Believe the Word of God: "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him." [Hebrews 11:6; NIV] |
| 3) Repent of your sins: "But unless you repent, you too will all perish." [Luke 13:3b; NIV] |
| 4) Confess that Jesus is the Son of God: "Whoever acknowledges Me before men, I will acknowledge him before My Father in heaven. But whoever disowns Me before men, I will disown him before My Father in heaven." [Matthew 10: 32, 33; NIV] |
| 5) Be baptized (immersed) for the remission of your sins: -"Peter replied, 'Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." [Acts 2:38; NIV] -"Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life." [Romans 6:3-4; NIV] -"for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ." [Galatians 3:27; NIV] |
| Quick note about baptism: You won't find the correct definition in an English dictionary, because it's not an English word, but a transliteration of a Greek word, meaning "to immerse". | |||||||
| 6) Be faithful unto death: "Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life." [Revelation 2:20b; NIV] |
| Thanks for your time. Please consider what I've said. It's never too early to consider God's offer, but there will come a time when it will be too late. So choose wisely. | |||||||
