After the great Flash introduction, a simple uncluttered page displays. I clicked on the "site Index" for a quick overview... The short TOC opens to content wth considerable depth. "The activities and lesson plans developed for this Web site comprise a multidisciplinary unit that uses television, the Internet, and other resources as learning tools to explore and understand the ancient Greek world. The lessons are designed primarily for middle and high school level students, though most could be adapted with minor modification for use with elementary school children." Powerful Days: The Civil Rights Photography of Charles Moore
"On September 3, 1958, Charles Moore, a young photographer for the Montgomery Advertiser, witnessed an argument between the Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. and two policeman on the steps of the City Recorders� Court... Moore was the only member of the media to witness King's subsequent arrest, and his picture of the local minister being manhandled during the police booking became one of the most significant photographs of the civil rights movement... King was taken to the back of the jail where he was frisked, roughed-up and tossed into a cell... By 1965, the photographer would grow weary of years of violence--of hatred, street battles and the searing taste of tear gas--having witnessed many of the most significant events of the era." Moore continued to document the events surrounding James Meredith's entry to the University of Mississippi and the Birmingham and Selma protests.
