Dragon Ball -  The Video Games

A guide to Most of the Main Characters in The DragonBall Series...

Virtual Goku!Like all successful manga or anime, Dragon Ball inspired video games. But since DB was extremely popular (perhaps the most popular serie of all time!) it inspired more games than the usual... There is dozen of DB (especially DBZ) games on every imaginable platforms.

Here is a attemp to list all the DB and DBZ games that existed. Since there was so many games, it's quite possible there is a few missing on this list. If you know of a game that isn't on this list, please e-mail me! All the information for the early games come from Joypad Magazine N.31, April 1994. The titles of the early games are listed in japanese for now, but I'll add the translations soon.

I can't recommend or comment on any games since I played only TWO of all the DB games that exists! I only played the first DBZ Gameboy game, which I found quite good, but very short, and one of the SNES games. I have seen what most of the games are like from commercials in DB and DBZ episodes, especially early games. Some of them looked quite good, like DB Gokuu Den on the Famicom... For enlighted comments and tons of codes, screenshots, and everything, hop right now to the fabulous Definitive Dragon Ball video games homepage.

Many of the DBZ games are released in France, with text translated in French. Only the fighting games got there, though. European video games are not compatible with american or japanese systems, and I don't know of any adaptor that work in the PAL/SECAM SNES -> NTSC SNES sense. Too bad.
