Rock Candy
4 cups sugar
2 cups white Karo syrup
1 cup water
Flavoring, if desired (1 tsp.)
Food coloring, if desired

Combing sugar, syrup and water.  Boil until candy thermometer reaches 300 degrees (hard crack).  Take off heat.  If desired, add coloring and flavoring.  Pour into cookie sheet (ungreased).  Let cool.  Crack with back end of knife.  Store in a cool, dry place
