any once sacred symbols of Magical antiquity have become corrupted by modern-day pseudo-believers, unbelievers, & opportunists. Take for example, the jesus-cross. At one time, it was a sacred jewish amulet representing an impending change upon the Roman governmental rulership of an oppressive society at that time. Now, even those who are total unbelievers adorn themselves in that holy shape, indeed mocking it by their lack of applied spirituality. It has become a "fashion statement", & is worn by many a so-called "sinner"! What unknowing blasphemy they perform!
From what I have seen, some of the most obnoxious people wear crosses. Wife-beaters, impetuous Christians, drunken barflies, pimps, greasy skirt-chasing guidos, stinking illiterate beaners, slurring rednecks, lousy "musicians", awful "actors", moronic muscle-heads, imbecilic "athletes", & trendy floppy-headed bunnies. And they all deserve eachother.
On the other hand, take its opposite, & truly acknowledged blasphemous form - the inverted cross. There are those who wear such a pendant because they truly believe in what is portrayed. Still here too, there are also many who may use it as a "fitting in" device, fitting in with the "weirdos", as it were. However, those who truly understand its application recognize it as the reverse of jesusism in all its respects. Namely, the opposite of subservience, servility, stupidity, mediocrity, & repression. It is the symbol of The Anti-christ. The Rebel. Lucifer's Cross. With this meaningful definition, this symbol collectively contains far more power than the cross ever did.
The combined belief of every Satanic Individual wielding this fearsome wapon Magically empowers, & thus psychically multiplies the wearer, whereas the jesus-cross no longer does, as it has indeed lost its meaning.
There are impressions that are made upon the ethers, collectives, reservoires of Power that accumulate, which can be tapped into by the most proficient Sorcerer. There is the balance factor. Symbols invoke emotions. Emotions empower symbols. The symbol empowers the wearer. On the same token, symbols can be de-valued by the hypocritical deeds & words of those supposedly representing them, which in turn weakens the wearer.
In the case of a christian, while exhibiting hypocritical behaviour, he has committed the so-called "unpardonable sin" of his religion - blasphemy of the holy spirit, by mis-representing his religion. Erego, the cross loses influence, & furthermore becomes a mockable icon.
The cross represents misery & death. Graveyards are filled with them. Hospitals are adorned with it. And churches, those charnel abbitoirs of the human-spirit, those palaces of repression & slavery, ornament their altars & steeples with it. They would deem to say that it repesents life & "salvation", but this is mere reverse psychology, which only the most miserable, incompetent, simple-minded, & unquestioning mind would be drawn towards.
Personally, I prefer The Baphomet, & those truly sacred symbols which I have created. However, there is a definite place for the inverse cross. Whether it be the ideology behind it, &/or its ritualistic use as a liberating agent. In either case, Hail the Inverted Cross!
