Frater Perdurabo arises once more; the voice of Prophet Baphomet echoes from beyond the grave to spin his incantations again.
Biography Highlights
Considered quite the heretic in his day, and dubbed "The Wickedest Man in The World" by the press, Crowley lived a life of vice and debauchery, incoperating his sexual practices into his culturally-diverse {particularly Egyptian} Magical Formulae, coining the term "Do What Thou Wilt"; his exploits were considered most extreme by the contemporary culture of the day, and was even evicted from Italy by Mussolini in his relatively brief tenure at his "Abbey of Thelema" {Gk., "will"}, where it is said that villagers would cross themselves when they passed by.
He authored several voluminous tomes on ceremonial Magick {added a 'k' to establish a distinction between Sorcery and Prestidigitation}, most notably, "The Book of The Law", or "Liber Al Legis", among many others, including books on poetry and an autobiography entitled "Diary of A Drug Fiend". Growing up, his own mother dubbed him "The Beast", a name which he would eventually utilize to identify himself with, as in "Mega Therion" {"Great Wild Beast"; Power Metal band Celtic Frost would eventually dedicate an album to him named 'Mega Therion' with art by H.R. Giger, a Crowlean Thelemite himself}, because, it is alleged, he once tortured and mutilated a cat in an effort to determine whether or not the legend about cats possessing '9 Lives' is true. And this coupled with seducing the maid at the tender age of 13, as well as his fledgling practices with The Black Arts.
He eventually joined up with MacGregor Mathers of The Hermetic Order of The Golden Dawn, until an internal schism caused Crowley to form his own organization he named the "Astrum Argentium", symbolized thusly: A.`. A.`. ;
a psychic battle is said to have occurred between them which involved the transmittal of vampiric thought forms to attack one another, in which during one particularly intense projection, Crowley took Mathers' manifestation, infused it with increased malevolent potency, and sent it back to attack him. Mathers fell increasingly ill and finally assented victory to Crowley.
Invisibility: Wearing full wizard garb, he walked through a crowded restaurant unnoticed.
Telepathy / Telikinisis: Once demonstrated how he could work someone like a puppet by first mimicking his moves, and when the momentum of a connection is thus established, he prurposefully buckled his knees, causing his quarry to fall.
It is also rumoured that a young acolyte perished during one dangerous rite, in which the youth stepped out of the "protective circle" and was forthwith seized by demonic assailants.
Though Crowley did not consider himself a Satanist, but a Thelemite, or "one who wills", the term was probably foisted upon him by the public and media with a mix of ignorance, stuporstition, and sensationalism.
Crowley excarnated on the shores of Lochness at Boleskine House in Scotland, where it is said his phantom has been seen walking through the halls by successive caretakers and owners since. Of course, another more fanciful tale relates that he communed with The Loch's other resident, none other than Nessie. The grave is marked by by an obelisk thrusting up into the fog.
The Black Box
The cover is emblazoned with a heptagram of the "Sigillum Sanctus Fraternitatus", or "Sigil of The Sacred Fraternity Astrum Argentium" - a striking and impressive image. A warning on the back states "...If any of the material is liable to offend or frighten you, please do not purchase. You have been warned."Reminds one of the reverse psychology also used in Necronomicon's warning. Also reminiscient of Necronomicon, the various descriptions of the lavish booklet within {if you dare open the black box} tells of some of the remarkable occurrences which transpired during the creation and distribution of this 6 CD Set, which included the total destruction of the original copies by a freak lightning storm, and a near-fatal auto 'accident'.
The booklet also contains a more detailed account of the philosophies and experiences of Prince Chioa Kahn. Upon the possession of this disstinctive collection, take notice of the bar code, which bears the number of The Beast thereon - yet another phenominon which occurred in the production of its evilution. Also contained therein are various photographs of Crowley, depictions of fetishistic, mystical, and tantric photography.
