Coaches comments: Excellent racing this weekend! I know we didn't win races like we had hoped. But we learned a lot! We played a good game! We raced hard! Our timing was beautiful! Our heads were focused in the boat! I feel proud of each and every one of you. We gelled as a team and it felt great to see us come together as we did. For all of us that are competitive at heart -- just remember winning isn't everything but the hearts and good intentions of the team are. And let me say this, if you haven't heard it from me before. This is the strongest DBI in both performance and in people (meaning great hearts, good fun, caring, etc) that I've seen in many years. Close races are hard, there are so many "what ifs". Please put those aside, it takes 19 people to race in Rose Festival and every single person did their job and did it well. Next year we either will practice 10 times in the big boats so we are more prepared. I believe that's probably all we needed. -Stephanie Dyck
