| Pokemon Reviewer: Catastrophe Rating: 9/10 If you dont know Pokemon, I DO NOT KNOW where you have been for the past 6 years, Pokemon stands for Pocket Monsters, Pokemon are creatures that can be tamed by people if they have a pokeball to store it in, thus the word Pocket Monsters. Now that this is settled, let me move on to the Pokemon Anime. Ash is a 10 year old boy who dreams to be a Pokemaster one day. The night before he gets his pokemon, Ash Oversleeps and when he arrives at proffesor Oak's house, the Pokemon are all gone, Ash is only left with an untamable Pikachu which he decides to take on his journey, while on the way to the next town, the two have quarrels and end up disturbing a bunch of Spearow, though Pikachu had caused Ash trouble, Ash still protected Pikachu, noticing this Pikachu helped ash and a new freindship bond was created, Ash on his Journey meets Misty, a sister to the Cerulean City's Gym leader(s), Misty wants to become the world's greatest Water pokemon Trainer, and Brock the Gym Leader of Pewter City, the three travel around Kanto and help ash gain all the eight badges while meeting and learning about all sorts of Pokemon, After Ash had acheived 8 badges, he entered the pokemon Leauge but lost misrablly in the Top 16 after his Charizard refused to obey orders, After this, Ash goes to the Orange Islands to compete in the Pokemon Oragne Island Tornament. Ash Wins this and heads off with his 2 best friends into the World of Johto, again he's up with the same Scenario, after acheiving 8 badges, Ash enters the Jhoto League and loses, (though he teaches his Rival Gary a good lesson) then on, Ash travels to a new area called Hoenn, an area filled with even more new pokemon, Ash has to collect 8 badges and try to beat the Hoenn leaugue!! Misty takes over the Gym Leader role in Cerulean, Brock leaves Ash as well, so Ash is all alone with him and his pikachu, he decides to start of fresh and leave his older pokemon at professor Oak's. On his Hoenn journey, Ash meets May, a Rookie trainer trying to be the world's best Pokemon Competion player along with Brock who comes later in the series, May's brother also joins the Journey as Ash tries his toughest Challenge yet. Writer's Review Pokemon is proably the longest running TV show in my time! I was watching this show since I was 6! that's less than half my age!! it has made about 400 episodes so far, thats more episodes than the WHOLE dragonball series put togeter!!!!! but having said that, Pokemon can get Tiring, I mean, after Ash loses the Kanto Tournament, and the Johto tournament, that's about 310 epsodes already, it has to stop!!!! if you catch my drift and know what I mean, you need not read this review anymore but for the ones that dont understand, let me explain: for the older anime viewers, from ages 13 and over, our Generation has watched Pokemon and the Phase of Pokemon has passed our Generation, we aren't too Interested in the merchandise apart from the games, also, our Generation isn't too bothered with the anime since new one's that are similar are always coming out, an example will be YUGiOH, and DEUL MASTERS, it's something new and fresh, but for the youngsters, Pokemon will always be their latest phase, even when there are YUGIOH and DEUL MASTERS, if it wasn't for Pokemon, those Anime's and other few like Digimon and Monster Rancher wouldn't Exsist. |
