I am fairly heavily involved in community volunteer work. I am a member of Colorado ARES districts 10 & 11, covering Boulder, Larimer, Weld & Jackson Counties, The Vance Brand Cadet Squadron in the Colorado Wing of the Civil Air Patrol, and the Longmont Amatuer Radio Club. Through these fine groups I get out into my community both for fun events like the Longmont Turkey Trot, an annual 10k, and for more serious situations like emergency communication and Search & Rescue. I am also able to work with youg people, teaching CAP cadets about aviation, space technology, and leadership. I find this work very rewarding and a way to keep involved in my community. |
