Huge Carabande set-up. I don't know how many sets were contained in this set-up, but I'd guess at least 3 plus a couple of action sets!

Alfonzo, Jenn, David and Alison in Das Motorsport Spiel.

Frank Wimmer and Paul (off camera) playing Star Wars - Queen's Gambit. Impressive set-up! I'll have to get Frank's reaction to it. In the background is Doris and Frank.

Myself, David, Emily, Peter (teaching), Dave R and Chunk in Reiner Knizia's new game of Afrika. I found it somewhat fun but very light and the decisions were usually fairly obvious once you got going. Maybe subsequent plays will reveal more but this was not my favorite game of the week.

Jenn and Stephen Glenn discuss Stephen's new game of Birds and the Bees (which gathered a top 10 finish in the Hippodice 2001 competition a few weeks back). A fun and interesting trick-taking game which Stephen continues to tweak.

Jenn and Bob Schwartz as two of the players in Tante Tarantel. This was a very neat (and very short!) game about a big spider trying to capture our little bugs as we attempt to reach the exit of the spider's web. I enjoyed this twice and will be looking for a copy.

Joe and I lost in concentration in Zertz. We're about the two most unlikely candidates for a 2P abstract game at the Gathering - good thing someone took the photo! Great game - one of mine and Jenn's favorite 2P games.

Jim (off camera), Bruce, Andy, Tom and I (off camera) playing Princes of Florence. This was my first play on the non-German version of the game - the English cards make it much easier to play and since this is one of my favorite games of 2000 I have just replaced my German copy with the new Rio Grande Games English one.

Bob Schwartz and I. Bob was great fun to game with during the week - I made it a point to get in several games with him and enjoyed his company at the table.

Small selection of games from the massive prize table. I hope someone else got a full-shot of this - it was really incredible to look at throughout the week.

David and Alison, Jenn and I playing Die Handler von Genua. Neat game - Jenn's favorite of the event (along with Black Vienna which is not a new game but she want's to track down a copy now).
