The manticorant is one of the most peculiar troodontids. Though it probably evolved in either China or Mongolia, it is currently only found in India. This omnivorous theropod is protected by hundreds of long and sharp spines that seem to be specialized protofeathers. Though this dinosaurian porcupine is an able runner, it seems to usually trust the protection of it's spines.
