Argentinean bulettes (Bulia argentiniensis) are small burrowing insectivores, thriving in the spec-pampas. The species are rarely seen on the surface, and have small eyes and ears -  the latter protected by small, bony, hornlike extensions of the 'skullcap'. These horns are slightly larger in the males, but do not appear to be used in any combat function.
