| SCAM !!! This is the ad that was recently on the internet someone had innocently passed around thinking it was a legit offer: Extras needed for Feature Filming in Albuquerque Major Motion Picture slated to begin filming in this month is in need of background extras. Any ethnicity, 18 years and older. This is a contract job. Compensation: $85 per day. 1-800-280-0177 This is the response from someone on the internet: I vote: SCAM Local CD's hire the extras, not out-of-towner's. All you have to do is Google the number and see that they place these ads all over the US. The xxxx "Agency" tried something like this recently and they got caught. They were told by the authorities to cease and desist this illegal practice. NOBODY needs an agent or otherwise to get chosen as an extra. Xanndra Boehler Bravo Xanndra! RamFilms has seen several of these ads with 1-800 numbers and they are ALL scams! They promise you employment and great pay ($300 a day, for example) DON'T you believe it! RamFilms has investigated these rat bastards and they usually want one of the folowing: 1. Your credit card number. (Duhhh!) 2. A 'small' registration or office fee from anywhere from $40 up to $150 or more 3. One 'agency' even wanted an admittance/subscription fee in order to access their database of "FREE" casting calls on the internet, the calls were free but the contact info is what you paid for. DON'T even consider these shady con rackets. If you need help, ask around and check out websites on the internet - like this one. |
